Harvest - 1 space left
12 Days · 9 Oct – 20 Oct 2024

This trip is during my absolute favourite time of the year in Japan. The higanbana and kinmokusei flowers are in bloom, the rice is being harvested and we have our very local festival at the 1,300 year-old local shrine.

I’m excited to have 3 fit and fun-loving guests in their early 80s coming on this trip as well as a lady in her 60s. The itinerary fits their interests in crafts, bird-watching, hiking and visiting iconic places. Will you join us?

Autumn Fire - 3 spaces left
12 Days •10 Nov – 21 Nov 2024

Autumn Fire dates coincide with Japan’s peak time for spectacular, autumn colours and includes a night on Naoshima Art Island as well as a night in a Buddhist monastery. This trip is customised to an artist/potter, her daughter who is a vet and my wish to witness my Japanese “Mum” play her final competitive volleyball game at 92 years old.
The itinerary is action packed - and flights from Australia to Kansai are cheap right now.

Lyn’s happy and caring manner ensured a holiday full of surprises from ‘off the beaten track’ to the traditional ‘Must Do’s’. A wonderful experience we will be back for more.

About me

Hi, I’m Lyn - when I first moved to Japan in 1990, I never imagined I would end up living there for three decades. But there are a lot of things about Japan that are addictive. Today, Japan and Australia feel equally like home.

My book: Turning Japanese in 101 easy steps

I wrote this book to help guests decide which experiences they would like to have while in Japan and I adapt each trip to fulfill your wishes. Turning Japanese in 101 easy steps will also give you a lot of insight into the intricacies of life and social norms in Japan.

Traditional, with a double bed and tatami room with two futons. It provides a wonderful glimpse into pre-1950’s Japanese architecture while being recently renovated.

🦡 Tanuki (Racoon dog)

Contemporary Japanese living, with a queen bed, 2 single bed rooms and a futon bed in a tatami room. It sits two stories high and also has been recently renovated.
