Yes, I'm happy to give simple advice but, if you want me to do the bookings, I will add 10% to the costs of flights and insurance to cover my administration fees.

Most likely. We will do our best to meet your specific needs.

What is Japan’s voltage?

It is 100V, 50/60 Hz. We will supply adaptors. Laptops, phones and shavers should work without any problems.

Can we skip some sightseeing?

Yes, as we will mainly be based in one place, it will be possible for you to do your own thing on some days, at your own expense.

Must I have travel insurance?

Yes. You must have insurance to cover any potential medical costs and cancellation fees. It is optional whether you also take out cover for your luggage.

What will I need to pack?

  • 2-3 sets of clothes. We have 2 washing machines and 1 dryer

  • Credit card to withdraw cash from ATMs and pay for purchases

Can I use my phone in Japan?

This will depend on your phone service plan - please check with your mobile service provider. You will be able to use WiFi in the house and some public places so we recommend keeping in touch with people back home via email and other online communication platforms. Will we have good WiFi?

Yes – both at home and in some public places. If you wish to always have access to the internet, we suggest downloading the App 'Airalo'and purchasing some data.

How safe is it in Japan?

Food hygiene laws are strict and the tap water is safe to drink. Viruses and mosquito-born diseases are not likely. Crime rates are one of the lowest in the world. Natural disasters, such as earthquakes and typhoons are possible. We will not be in any area where tsunami or radiation could affect us.

What if I get sick or injured?

Japanese hospitals are of a very high standard and your travel insurance will cover expenses. Lyn will ensure you are well looked after.
